        The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room.  Roll Call: Merle Ackley, present, Jeff Rosebrook, present, Gary Baker, present and Cindy Stalling, present.  Also present was Melony Baker, Bonnie Brose, John Brose, Howie Kaiser,  Dave Cook, Tom Cunningham, Keith Montgomery, Bev Wolf, Mark Wilson, Brian Tracey, and Doug Henry.    

           The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting.  Mr. Ackley asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer.  They both stand approved.

 Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

     Mrs. Bev Wolf stated that it was good to see Mr. Baker here this evening. 

     Mr. Dave Cook reported that he had 3 applications with him that he was recommending we hire these 3 for the fire dept.  They are:

Jennifer Ganson, Tate Peterson, and Dan Bowman.  Ms. Ganson is also a medic, Mr. Peterson has taken his test for a medic but doesn’t have the results back yet, and Mr. Bowman in a EMT- Intermediate.  Mr. Bowman and Ms. Ganson both have 19 years of experience. 
Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion to hire the 3 applicants for the fire dept., seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

     Mr. Cook reported that the squad is in the shop, it won’t keep power, so it is at Whites in Urbana. 

     Mrs. Bonnie Brose, janitor, talked to Mr. Rosebrook about getting a motion light above the back door of the restroom at Perry Park.  Mr. Rosebrook stated that he will take care of this.  He will install one right above the door.

     Mrs. Brose would also like to have some more toilet paper holders for the restroom before the July celebration.  If she puts extra rolls in there, they either get stolen, or people wet them and throw pieces on the ceiling. 

     There will be a parade on July 10 and Chief Montgomery will be in charge of it. 

     Mr. Mark Wilson reported that there are some tree branches hanging over the walkway at the park that needs to be trimmed.

     Chief Montgomery thanked the trustees for the new chain saw we got the fire dept.  They would like to have a depth gauge for it.  Mr. Ackley told Mr. Kaiser to go ahead and order one, and he will pick it up. 

     Chief reported that Doug Henry and Mitch Current found that the sun is coming in on the turn out gear and rotting it.  The gear grid that they would like to purchase for the fire house would be $6,842.10 for 27 spaces.  Mr. Baker made a motion for said purchase, seconded by Mr. Ackley.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

     Mr. Rosebrook reported that he and Mr. Tom Cunningham attended the two chicken farms meetings that were held recently.  They were told that all questions were supposed to be answered by letter to individuals.  So far they have not received any answers as of yet.

     Mr. Rosebrook had 2 bids on the asphalting for the parking lot beside the fire house.

     Mr. Rosebrook reported that the dumpster day went real well.  He would like to thank John Brose, John Baughman, and Ken Rosebrook, Jr. for all their help.

     Mr. Rosebrook stated that Triple C Construction went and looked at the sidewalk in front of Bill Reeds property.  They told Jeff that they need to replace a 3 x 3 section of the sidewalk.  They can just cut that out and we can pour a new piece in that section.

     Mr. Rosebrook stated that it has been too wet to go out behind Doug Wills to check out that tile.

     Mr. Rosebrook got the lettering on the truck, and it looks real nice.

     Mr. Rosebrook got the outlet fixed at the shelter house, and the switch is in for the lights at the fire house for Mr. Kaiser.  

   Mr. Ackley reported that all the roads have been mowed.

     Mrs. Stalling brought up about the insurance recommendations that Mr. Gottfried brought to our attention back in March.
