        The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday, October 12 , 2009 at at the East Liberty Community Room.  Roll Call: Merle Ackley, present, Jeff Rosebrook, present, Gary Baker, present and Cindy Stalling, present.  Also present was Melony Baker, Keith Montgomery,  John Brose, Bonnie Brose, Margie Cook, Dave Frangis,  Tim Eubanks, Tom Cunningham, Robert Shively and Howie Kaiser.

           The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting.  Mr. Ackley asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and the stand approved.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Baker, yes.

           Mr. Ackley asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer.  They stand approved.

 Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

Mr. Robert Shively, medic, stated that the squad needs M1 syringes, filtered needles, microtubing, and he would like to get a EZ10 (IV access).  He is still shopping around for pricing for the EZ, as it is quite pricey.  Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion to purchase all the supplies except for the EZ, seconded by Mr. Gary Baker.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.  Mrs. Margie Cook wanted to know what her price limit for the squad is?  It is $300.00 without getting permission from the Trustees.

     Chief Montgomery would like to get some chutes for the back of the truck.  For a 90 degree elbow chute it would cost $294.00, a 48” extension chute for $138.00. Mr. Gary Baker made a motion for said purchase, seconded by Mr. Merle Ackley.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

     Chief wanted to know about getting a digital camera for the fire dept.  Would it be okay if the dept. goes ahead and gets it and then the township can reimburse the dept. for it?  This was okay with all the trustees.

     Chief stated that the lock on the back door of the fire house needs fixed.  Is the township going to paint overhead of the back door?  Mr. Baker told him that yes that would be done.

     Chief reported that Robert Shively will be taking a CPR training class for $175.00.  Chief wanted to know if the township could pay for this and then we take the money out of his paycheck?  All trustees agreed that we would do this for him.

     Mrs. Margie Cook brought up that the Log. Co. Health Dept. is suggesting that all FD/Squad personnel get the H1N1 shots/mist.  Mrs. Cook wanted to know if the township would reimburse each individual for their shot/mist?  Mr. Baker made a motion that if they keep their receipts then the township would reimburse them, seconded by Mr. Mr. Ackley.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.  Mr. Baker would like for them to sign a release for the township also.

      Mr. Howie Kaiser reported that the fire extinquishers that were outdated have been taken care of, they will be back Friday.

     Mrs. Bonnie Brose announced that there will be a meet the Candidate on Thursday, Oct. 15 at at the Lodge Hall.

      Mrs. Brose reported that on Dec. 9 the Court House will be coming to the Community Room from to sell dog tags. 

       Mrs. Margie Cook had a slip from Dr. Moore for her to be off work until Dec. 15, 09, as they are now going to try water therapy on her.

      Mrs. Cook reported that she is about done with the Medicaid papers.

      Mrs. Cook stated that she will not go on anymore runs.

      Mr. Baker asked if the fire dept. wants  the lock on the back door of the fire house to match the other two locks.  He was told yes they do.

     Mr. Baker reported that the new tires have been put on the one ton truck and it will go to White’s to get an alignment next Monday.

     Mr. Baker talked to the Akey’s attorney again, and Mr. Montgomery told Mr. Baker that they are not willing to give the cemetery up, and they stated that they would fight for it.  Mr. Baker told Mr. Montgomery that we were thinking of maybe putting up a monument with all the names of the individuals that are buried there on it.  Mr. Montgomery will contact the Akeys and tell them this and see what they say about it.

     Mr. Baker replaced the cell phones in the rescue and the squad.

      Mr. Baker reported that DJL is behind schedule because of the weather, in the crack filling for the roads.  So we may or may not get done this fall.

     The catch basin in front of Bob Jackson’s property was installed today.

      Dave has mowed the lot for the recycle center.

      Mrs. Bev Wolf needs help tomorrow at the food pantry.

      Mr. Jeff Rosebrook reported that the parking lot beside the fire house is done, and he put a catch basin in too.  He returned the material that he did not use.

      Jeff ordered the material to fix the electric work at the shelter house.

      The trustees will close the park in the next couple of weeks.

     Mr. Dan Stanford contacted Mr. Rosebrook about cleaning the ditch out across from him.  Jeff told him that he would contact the State as he’s on a

State Route
. 

      Mr. Merle Ackley brought up about removing the flowers off of the cemeteries to get ready for the fall and winter flowers.  We are not going to advertise it this year, as with the funds being down.

        Mr. Gary Baker brought up about where he works the insurance rates have went WAY up and we should contact our insurance company and see about ours. 

      Mr. Jeff Rosebrook went and seen Mr. Charles Rasnick and told him that the township could not help pay for any of the hill being cut out on SR 292. 

      Mr. Merle Ackley wanted to know if the Fire/EMS is going to patrol on Trick-or-Treat night?  Chief Montgomery said yes.  Mr. Ackley made a motion to pay the fire dept. $100.00 for the evening, seconded by Mr. Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

      Chief Montgomery wanted to know what we are paying  Sprint for the 3 cell phones we have from them for the Fire Dept.?  Mrs. Stalling told him around $100.00 per month.  Chief said to cancel them.  Mr. Baker made a motion to cancel the Sprint phones, seconded by Mr. Ackley.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.

      Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Baker, yes.

 

BILLS TOTALED :   $47,115.97

 

INCOME FOR SEPTEMBER: $275,903.75

 

 

 

 

     Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Baker, yes.
